Ensign tractors are reliable and highly efficient, earning the endorsement of veteran operators with over 30 years of experience.
“Food is the paramount necessity of the people; food safety comes first.” Pingdu City has a long-standing tradition of grain cultivation. The city cultivates over 3 million mu of grain crops annually, more than 500,000 mu of peanuts, and 1.1 million mu of fruits and vegetables. It is a nationally renowned major grain-producing county and the country’s largest commercial oilseed production base. Reportedly, Pingdu City has been the top-performing grain-producing county in the province for many consecutive years.

The reason Pingdu City has been able to remain a major grain-producing county in the province for many consecutive years is not only due to its abundant arable land but also closely linked to the local advancement of agricultural modernization. In recent years, Pingdu City has vigorously developed socialized service organizations, providing specialized and socially-oriented services such as substitute plowing, substitute planting, substitute pest control, and substitute disease management, thereby enhancing the efficiency and profitability of grain production. Through measures including project subsidies, integration of agricultural machinery and agronomy, specialized services, and demonstration effects driven by new types of business entities, Pingdu City has achieved continuous growth in grain yields.
On this point, Lü Yongjun, a villager from Nancun Town, Pingdu City, Qingdao, Shandong Province, feels deeply. “I’m over 50 years old now, and I mainly provide agricultural mechanization services these days. Each year, we serve more than 10,000 mu of farmland—something that was simply unimaginable in the past. When I was young, we relied entirely on manual labor for farming; even the largest family could only cultivate a few acres at most, and we’d be exhausted from dawn till dusk. But as our local agriculture has rapidly developed, agricultural machinery has become widely adopted, and the number of large-scale land contractors has been steadily increasing. Grain yields have risen year after year. Now, I’ve joined in myself, and it feels truly wonderful to contribute my part to the modernization of our local agriculture.”

Currently, Lü Yongjun owns more than 20 sets of agricultural machinery, including tractors, seeders, tillage and land preparation equipment, and combine harvesters, essentially providing a one-stop service covering the entire process—from plowing and sowing to crop management and harvesting. Lü Yongjun is extremely proud of this: “From land preparation all the way through seeding, applying pesticides, weeding, and finally harvesting, we basically cover every stage. Most of the local farmland is served by us, and farmers highly appreciate our services.”
As for how he’s managed to win the approval of so many farmers, Lü Yongjun believes it’s actually quite simple. “Actually, gaining users’ approval is pretty straightforward—you just need to do your job well, treating it as if you were tilling your own land. If you’re satisfied with what you’ve done, your customers will naturally be satisfied too. Of course, it sounds easy to say, but putting it into practice still presents some challenges. After all, besides putting your heart into it, there are also certain requirements regarding the quality and effectiveness of the agricultural machinery you purchase.”
As an experienced machinery operator with over 30 years of driving experience, Lü Yongjun has a thorough understanding of various agricultural machines and different brands. However, in 2020, in order to expand the scale of his tillage and land preparation services, Lü Yongjun purchased a tractor that had just entered the market within the past two years. This decision puzzled and raised doubts among his family members and friends. “Don’t be fooled by my age—I’m actually quite eager to try out new machines,” Lü explained. “New brands often bring me fresh experiences, and their cost-effectiveness is relatively higher compared to some established, well-known brands. That’s why, in 2020, I made a tentative purchase of a tractor from Ensign Heavy Industry.”

Although at first, his family had some reservations, they eventually came to recognize Lü Yongjun’s “sharp-eyed discernment.” Indeed, after a period of use, this Ensign YX2204-G1 tractor has proven itself to be exceptionally good—in terms of power, efficiency, and overall quality and reliability. As a result, Lü Yongjun subsequently placed orders for three more tractors from Ensign Heavy Industry: the Ensign YX1804-J, the Ensign YX2004-G1, and the Ensign YX2104-K. This time, his family was fully supportive.
“Actually, when I first saw Ensign tractors, I immediately thought this product was promising. After all, having spent nearly half my life working with tractors, I still have a pretty good eye for quality. What satisfies me most is its hydraulic system—on other domestic brands of tractors, even some big-name ones, the hydraulic systems tend to run into problems quite easily. But Ensign ’s tractors really excel in terms of quality and reliability; out of the four tractors I currently own, not a single one has had any issues with its hydraulic system.” Lü Yongjun is extremely satisfied with Ensign Heavy Industry’s tractors.

As of now, each of the four Ensign tractors purchased by Lü Yongjun serves over 3,000 mu of land annually. Each mu of land undergoes as many as six operations every year—deep plowing, harrowing, land leveling, and more—meaning that each tractor covers an operational area of nearly 20,000 mu, yielding substantial profits. In addition to their reliability and high profitability, Lü Yongjun is also extremely satisfied with the driving comfort of Ensign tractors. “Ensign Heavy Industry’s tractors are not only reliable in quality but also feature exceptionally light hydraulic steering. The cab itself is excellent, and the overall driving experience is quite comfortable. When I drive this machine, I can till over 200 mu of land in a single day—none of those young operators can match me!”
Nowadays, it’s not just Lü Yongjun himself—he’s also encouraged his son to join him in the business of agricultural mechanization services. “I’m getting older now, and although I still have plenty of energy, I can’t help but think about the future. In the years to come, agricultural cultivation and mechanized services will undoubtedly become increasingly specialized. Young people will certainly be better equipped than I am when it comes to new equipment, new technologies, and management. So, with my encouragement, my son has expressed his willingness to take over this line of work—and I’m really quite pleased about that.”
