Ensign Smart Manufacturing City Selected as a Major Implementation Project in Shandong Province for 2023

Recently, the “Notice of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government on Issuing the List of Major Provincial Projects for 2023” was officially released. Among them, there are 525 major provincial implementation projects, and the “Weifang Ensign Intelligent Manufacturing R&D Base Project,” submitted by Ensign Group, is one of them. Major provincial projects are large-scale initiatives that are critical to the long-term and overall economic and social development of the entire province. The Shandong Provincial Government Work Report emphasized the need to vigorously promote the construction of major projects, noting that these major provincial projects serve as important platforms and key drivers for advancing major strategies and implementing significant tasks.

Ensign Weifang Intelligent Manufacturing City is invested and constructed by Ensign Holding Group. The project has a total investment of 2.6 billion yuan, covers an area of 920 mu, and features a construction area of approximately 380,000 square meters. It primarily comprises 66 state-of-the-art intelligent manufacturing workshops, along with supporting facilities such as a comprehensive service center, a research and development center, and a staff living center.

Currently, construction has begun on 34 factory buildings, covering an area of approximately 600 mu and with a total floor area of about 180,000 square meters. The first batch of factory buildings was delivered and put into use at the end of 2022, and the remaining buildings under construction are expected to be delivered one after another before June 2023.

The project focuses on attracting high-quality industries such as intelligent manufacturing, smart assembly, precision instruments, and mechanical processing. Upon completion, it will form a clustered development pattern together with other industries in the same area—including equipment manufacturing, new energy, and high-tech sectors—fostering a new ecosystem for construction machinery that is positioned at the high end, boasts distinctive advantages, and exhibits strong aggregation. The project aims to establish itself as a first-class, modern, intelligent manufacturing R&D base in China.
